DAILY TEETH WHITENING: CHARCOAL TOOTHPASTE + TOOTHBRUSH

Hey guys, happy Monday! Today's post is gonna be short and sweet, but oh so effective!

You've probably guessed it, it's all about at-home teeth whitening, with charcoal toothpaste, no less. Well, actually, charcoal toothpaste and its new best friend: The charcoal toothbrush. Yep, you read that right!

Before I give you all the deets on what I'm predicting to be the next crazy toothbrush trend, let's talk charcoal toothpaste a little, shall we?

Unless you've been living under a HUGE rock for a few years, you've heard about activated charcoal in one way or another. You can't not have. Activated charcoal has definitely been having a moment for a while, and it's used in a LOT of products. Its main property is that it absorbs... everything. So it's used in pills that you can take for bloating and gas. It's used in face masks, to absorb oil and impurities... And in shampoos for the same purpose... It's basically everywhere.

One of the most popular uses for activated charcoal is definitely teeth whitening. A few years ago, when the charcoal trend was stronger than a young Arnold Schwarzenegger, I used to buy activated charcoal pills, open them up and mix them with my toothpaste. The process was long, tedious, and really messy. So I stopped doing it and kinda forgot about it, to be honest.

Then, a few weeks ago, one of my Instagram followers recommended this toothpaste after I showed my new charcoal toothbrush on Instagram... And I thought "Ha! Isn't this easy?!". The toothpaste comes all ready, no mixing, no pills, it's just super convenient.

But aside from the convenience, that toothpaste is just the BOMB. Get ready: It's free from fluoride, dyes, sulfates, microbeads, parabens, dairy and gluten (amongst other things). Their tubes are also made with no bpa or phthalates AND it's cruelty-free and vegan. If that's not enough for you, it's also made in the US, with globally sourced ingredients. Honestly, I'm super happy that I discovered this brand, because their products and values are just so, SO on point. You can get the toothpaste here, on Amazon, and if you want more info on the brand, it's right here on their website.

On a side note, they also have toothpaste for kids, and it's watermelon-flavoured. Is it bad that I wanna get myself toothpaste for kids?

But back to charcoal... Now that we've established how this charcoal toothpaste is the best one ever... I need to tell you about this charcoal toothbrush. It's made by Colgate, so you know it's legit. And it's also the SOFTEST, most gentle toothbrush I've ever used. And I should know what I'm talking about, because I tried like, 6 toothbrushes this year.

You see, I have the bad habit of brushing my teeth with the violence of an infuriated Nazi. Meaning that when I'm done brushing, my gums hurt like shit, and they also sometimes bleed. Nice, I know. But with that soft AF toothbrush, that doesn't happen anymore.

Another plus, the toothbrush is actually really cheap. At 5$ for 3, it comes down to less than 1.75$ each. And that's a total bargain.

But most importantly: The results. I don't have a before/after picture, but its definitely made a difference. To be clear, this is not a dentist whitening treatment. It's not whitening strips or trays, and it won't give you teeth 10 shades whiter in 3 days. There's no magic here.

BUT, if you do get a whitening treatment at the dentist (or any at-home treatment that's a little more aggressive), you'll want to preserve those results. This toothpaste-toothbrush combination is definitely a super affordable way to do that! And while it does whiten teeth a little, the biggest difference it makes is definitely prevent more stains. And I should know, because coffee and wine are basically my staples in life. Sadly, they're both extremely bad if you want white teeth.

But that toothbrush and toothpaste combination definitely makes a difference, even though it's subtle. Over the years, I've tried a lot of whitening toothpastes, and this one is by far the one that gave me the best results.

Have any of you guys tried that specific toothpaste or toothbrush? Or do you use any kind of activated charcoal toothpaste? If you're a fan, you NEED to try this one. And I swear this isn't sponsored at all. I just really love the combination of both. I now actually look forward to brushing my teeth and watch them become a tiiiiny bit whiter every time. Also, I feel like it's an insurance policy to prevent stains until I decide to go for a full-on whitening treatment.

On that note, if you guys have any recommendations, hit me up! You can always leave me a comment below, or get in touch on Instagram!

Wishing all of you an amazing week... And white teeth!

Love, Jenny xx
