COLOUR CRUSH WITH THIS LILAC EYELET CROP TOP (+ My Favourite Lilac pieces For Summer)
Before I get into today’s post, I want to get two things out of the way. First, I feel like I need a round of applause for the way my inner corner highlight matches my top. Especially since it wasn’t even planned, I only noticed as I was editing these pictures. Also, if you’re curious, I created this entire eye look using the Too Faced Pretty Rich palette which I reviews on the blog RIGHT HERE. Second of all, looking at these pictures also made me realize how my hair looks so fresh and healthy, and I couldn’t be happier. I recently got a haircut, because my split ends were getting out of control, and at first I was a liiiittle bit freaked out by how short my hair looks… Even though my hairdresser was very conservative and only chopped what was necessary. But I have to say, I’m happy I did it, because now my hair looks much healthier, and I know it’ll grow much faster now. So if you were thinking about getting a refresh before Summer, I highly recommend it!!
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s move on to what you guys are (probably) here for: Lilac coloured Summer clothes! To be totally honest, I’ve been seeing a lot of lilac/lavender clothes on Instagram, and I wasn’t really a fan. Purple is never really a colour I was into (although it was my baby sister’s favourite colour to a point where she literally would go EVERYWHERE wearing a giant purple princess dress until she was about 6 years old, lol).
But if you guys have been here for a while, you know that I love a challenge, and I love getting out of my fashion comfort zone and try new things out. When I saw this top on Forever 21’s website, I kind of felt like I had to have it. It’s probably due to the fact that it’s eyelet, and eyelet is my favourite material ever. It was also available in white, but I surprised myself and went for the lilac version, just because it’s a little more unexpected.
To be completely honest, I didn’t think I was gonna love it at first, and I pretty much ordered it thinking I would return it if it didn’t work out. I was mainly afraid that this light shade of lavender would make me look green and sickly, but I feel like it actually would look good on pretty much any skin-tone.
Obviously, I thought it would be fun to find other options for you guys, so I went and scoured the internet for my favourite lilac tops, dresses, skirts and 2-piece sets, and here’s what I found:
So, what do you think? Do you love these pieces? Which one is your favourite? Are you even a fan of the lilac shade that seems to be having such a moment this season? Let me know in the comment section below. And if you post pictures of yourself wearing something lilac on Instagram, tag me @thehungarianbrunette and I will repost your picture in my stories, tagging you of course!!
Love you guys,
