MY HOLIDAYS BEAUTY PICKS FROM SEPHORA (Makeup + Skincare, Value Sets + Palettes)
Before you start calling me a hypocrite for constantly saying that I’m not ready for Fall and then releasing a post about Holiday gifts in the first days of October, hear me out. I know that right now, I might be a worst offender than Costco in terms of bringing out Christmas-themed sh*t too early, and they have Christmas trees on display in frickin’ August, for f*ck’s sake.
BUT, if there’s one thing that makes me transgress all rules, it’s the beauty industry. So sue me, I just can’t help it. When I see shiny eyeshadow palettes and glistening skincare kits, I just f*cking loose it. And, it’s also not my fault if beauty brands release their Holiday collections in September, OK? Don’t hate the player, hate the game!
Since a lot of these products are also limited edition, I wanted to make sure to give you guys enough time to take your picks before certain things that I recommend get sold out. Because I truly believe in these recs, so I’m doing this based on the assumption that other people will go nuts over these as well. Better be safe than sorry… Or in this case, better be early than recommend sold out products.
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get started with the makeup and skincare items that I would put on my ideal Christmas list:
1- LANEIGE Kiss Me All Day Lip Glowy Balm Trio - If you’ve seen my full review of the Glowy Lip Balms, then you can easily understand why this is on the list. Not only is this a super cute gift set that allows you to taste (OK, try) the Berry, Peach AND Pear flavours, but it also makes you save $$$ because this set retails for $35, as opposed to $45 if you were to buy the 3 of them separately. This set is a MUST for the lip products lovers out there!!!
2- TOO FACED Christmas Cookie House Party Makeup Collection - This is the set that made my heart STOP when I saw it online. You guys might know, I’m obsessed with Too Faced. I think their aesthetic is the cutest thing, their formulas are insane, and you might have even seen my review of their Holiday makeup collection from last year, which I got from my sister-in-law. I think I’m even more obsessed with this new edition though, because that small palette looks insane (these glitters!!!), that big palette looks stunning too (these colours!!!) and it also comes with a beautiful highlighter-blush-bronzer trio, a mini eyeshadow primer, a mini matte liquid lipstick and a mini Better Than Sex mascara, which is THE BEST mascara to ever exist. I also love that there are 3 separate palettes instead of 1 big palette, because I find it more convenient for travel and storage. This is definitely something I’m considering getting for myself, because not only does it look amazing, but it also retails for $58 instead of its $353 value. What a steal!!
3- TARTE Elfing & Selfing Quench Lip Rescue Duo - I’ve been OBSESSED with the Lip Rescue balms from Tarte ever since I tried the mini that came in their “Pineapple Of My Eye” makeup set from last year’s Holiday collection. I also recommended them in my last Sephora Beauty Insider Sale recommendations post, and I’m recommending this set today, because these balms are the most beautiful, gloss-like finish. They feel amazing, smell amazing, look amazing… And you can get this set for $19, which is usually the price for one Lip Rescue balm. Anyone else up for a BOGO Free deal on these amazing balms? That’s what I thought. This would also be a perfect stocking stuffer, or it can be hung on the tree as an ornament. SO CUTE!
4- HERBIVORE Hydrate + Glow Natural Skincare Mini Collection - This set is super similar to the one I got for my sister-in-law for Christmas last year, and I’ve since then become obsessed with the brand. I recently reviewed their Brighten mask (which you can read right here) and I’ve heard amazing things about their Phoenix face oil and the Pink Cloud moisturizer, which are both included in this set along with the Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water hydrating face mist. Herbivore is a super clean, super natural brand, but it can be a little pricey, so I think it’s amazing to be able to try a few of their products for $39, especially since this set is valued at $51. It’s not an incredible difference, but $12 is $12.
5- CAUDALIE Favourites Set - Caudalie went from being a brand I had never tried to being one of my favourite skincare brands in less than a month, and that means something. Their products are clean, natural and respectful, they feel LUXE and they actually work wonders!! I’m currently obsessed with the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum that I reviewed right here, and I’ve also used their Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet (and finished it) which is also included in this set. The set also includes an eye cream, a micellar cleansing water and a beauty elixir. This is also an amazing value, because it retails for $44, but is valued at $96!! In all honesty, I would recommend picking this up, Holiday season or not!
6- OLEHENRIKSEN O.M.G. (Oh My Glow) Brightening Set - Now it’s no surprise that I’m OBSESSED with OleHenriksen at this point, because I’ve mentioned the brand countless times on here and reviewed many of their products. But my favourite products from the brand are by far the ones from this line, which is filled with vitamin-C and give your skin the craziest, most beautiful, lit-from-within glow. If you want to check out my full review, you can do so right here, or you can go ahead and add this to your cart right away, because it’s that good. Every year around the Holidays, they come out with a value set, and this year’s also includes their (relatively) new Banana Bright face primer, which I also love (and reviewed here) - all for $50, but valued at $98. Once again, it’s an amazing deal, because you’re basically getting these 4 products for the price of the serum only. I will definitely pick this up for myself just to restock on these essentials.
7- TOO FACED Let It Snow, Girl Makeup Collection - Yes, that’s another Too Faced makeup collection in my list. The difference is this one is a little less expensive ($49 for a $165 value) and has an eyeshadow palette, a highlighter/bronzer palette, a blush palette and a mini Bette Than Sex mascara. Once again, I love that it’s all little palettes instead of one giant one, and I feel like both their Holiday makeup collections are insanely good this year… Which is why I included both, because I just couldn’t make a choice! This one is definitely a better choice if you’re a blush girl, or if you can’t be bothered with things like an eyeshadow primer and a bright red lipstick.
8- MILK MAKEUP MVPs Set - This isn’t called the MVPs set for nothing!! In this set, you get a mascara, a bronzer, a highlighter, a primer, a cooling water, a serum, and a lip + cheek glow oil. I’m personally a huge fan of the brand, and I use a few of their products every day. Not only do they have amazing, clean products that perform incredibly well, but I’m also a big fan of how everything comes in a stick. It’s so quick and convenient, for use AND travel. I love that this set has both makeup and skincare, comes in a super cute makeup bag and is also an amazing value ($45 instead of $109). This is another one that I would pick up for myself if I didn’t already have most of these products, ha!
9- SEPHORA FAVOURITES Clean Skin & Hair Set - I’m personally a big fan of the Sephora Favourites sets, because I feel like they always have a great variety and they contain products from a ton of different brands, so that’s super fun. Plus, they usually come in a fun makeup bag and they’re usually priced at a great discounted price. This one, for example, retails for $46 but has a $115 value. It also contains some really popular products from highly acclaimed brands and some that I have tried myself, like the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet, the Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair!™ Deep Conditioning Mask and the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40, which I all think are fabulous and so worth it! I also love how this set has a really wide variety of products (both skincare and hair) like cleansers, moisturizers, serums, face oils, hair masks, etc… Which makes it an amazing gift for someone who wants to get started in skincare and build a collection, or a hardcore skincare fiend who just really enjoys trying out new products.
10- ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Jackie Aina Eyeshadow Palette - This isn’t technically a Holiday product, but it is limited edition AND it has the PERFECT shades to create any Holiday look, so I thought I would include it anyways. I personally already own this palette, and I am obsessed!! It has the most beautiful, deep, jewel tones that look amazing on any skin tone - and you can really create a TON of different looks with it. It also has some really, really unique colours that I haven’t seen in any other palettes, from any other brands… And I own quite a few eyeshadow palettes. This is my favourite Anastasia palette so far when it comes to the shades, and the Anastasia formula is also one of my faves… This palettes comes HIGHLY recommended from me, and I loved supporting an influencer from an underrepresented minority in the beauty industry. Way to go Jackie Aina, she deserved every single dwollah I spent on this eyeshadow palette.
11- NARS Inferno Eyeshadow Palette - If you’re a regular here, you probably remember my review of Nars’ Ignited Eyeshadow palette… And let’s just say, if this one is as good, it’s going to be THE palette for the Holidays. I mean, just look at these shades!!! They’re the PERFECT thing to wear under the mistletoe, next to the Christmas tree, the punch bowl…You get it. These are the perfect Holiday shades, and the packaging is also very Holiday-themed, with it’s bright red glittery cover, but I also feel like it’s a palette that would translate very well into any other time of the year, especially if you like wearing warm eyeshadow looks.
12- HOURGLASS Ghost Ambient Lighting Edit Face Palette - I’ve been dying over these limited edition palettes for 5 years… And yes, that’s how long they’ve been around for. Every Holiday season, Hourglass release their limited edition face palette, and the theme this year is “Ghost”. While I LOVE the actual shade, the packaging is really not my favourite… But I’ve been dying over these palettes for SO LONG and have heard so many good things about Hourglass face powders, that I think I might have to get over the packaging and finally get one. This palette comes with 2 finishing powders, a highlighter, a bronzer and 2 blushes - The bronzer and blushes being limited shades. At $80, this is a little pricey, but I literally haven’t met one person who isn’t obsessed with their, so…
That’s it for now, guys… There might be more new releases in the next few days/weeks, so you might see another one of these posts from me before the actual Holidays, but I think for now, this is a good wrap-up. What new releases are YOU guys crazy for? And what do you have on your wish-list?
