OOTD: BLACK& WHITE IN A SLEEVELESS VEST
You guys, I’m very excited about this outfit, because I feel like it screams SPRING. I mean, I know it’s all black and white, and it features jeans, but you get it: It’s not 26 layers of anything, and it doesn’t feature any puffy jackets. It’s a good old sleeveless look, with sandals. I feel like that’s the best I can do to summon the sun and the warmer weather. Do you feel me?
Also, for some reason, I’m kinda feeling some cow-boy vibes from this outfit, and I’m not sure if it’s the hat or the sleeveless blazer or the very western stars on the wall, but either way, I’m digging it!!
Speaking of the sleeveless blazer, I feel like I’m gonna be wearing the hell out of it this Spring and Summer, because it’s a super cool take on the checkered blazer that everyone and their dogs seem to be wearing right now. No shade, I’m not immune to this trend, because I just got one myself (lol) but I’m definitely a fan of this lighter take on it.
If it’s not that warm where you live just yet, you can also layer this sleeveless blazer over a long-sleeved top and it looks really good too.
I feel like I also need to tell you guys about the wonders of wedge sandals… And listen, I used to HATE wedges of any kind. I found them ugly and clunky and just really unattractive. But when I saw these ones at BCBG 3 years ago, I thought they looked super chic, so I tried them on anyway, and I was so shocked by how comfy they are. These are a 4 inch heel, and I can walk around in them the whole day, without even the tiniest pinch of pain.
When I was younger, I used to think that beauty was pain, and I didn’t mind going through frankly ridiculous amounts of pain to look good. Nowadays… Not so much! I feel like there are so many options that looks really good but are still comfortable, I just don’t see why I should put myself through pain.
So I’m telling you, if you haven’t given wedge sandals a try, please do. I linked a super similar pair below, since these exact ones are now sold out. And I feel like if you’re reticent about wedges, try on the sleekest pair you can find and you might change your mind. I personally realized it’s not so much wedges that I don’t like, it’s more the rope-like material (or cork imitation) they sometimes make the heel from.
What do you guys think of this outfit? Are you into wearing these darker shades for Spring, or are you a bright colours kinda gal? Let me know in the comment section below!
Love you guys,
