OOTD: CASUAL IN A GRAPHIC TEE & PLAID BLAZER + A FEW WORDS ON CARRERA CAFE
Guys, today’s outfit is brought to you by a work + chill sesh at Carrera Café with my friend Kris. We met for half a day of taking pictures and drinking coffee (which is something I LOVE doing) and I obviously wore my new-ish plaid jacket, because I’m obsessed with it. I originally shared it on here a few weeks ago (in this post) and since Spring is now fully blooming in LA, I decided it was time to give it a little lighter update.
This time, instead of a black and white palette, I paired it with light blue jeans and a bright graphic tee that reads “Give them love”. If you’ve read the first post about this jacket, then you might remember when I said that it looked amazing with red? Well there ya go, now you can see for yourself. I’m personally a huge fan, and I’ve been on the lookout lately for more red pieces to pair with this jacket (yeah, that’s how much I like it). Also, can we take a moment to appreciate how I also went as far as dressing Bentley in his harness that would compliment my shirt the most? Isn’t he the cutest thing though??? He was freshly washed before these pictures, so he looks like a young, squeaky clean little rat, LOL.
I obviously linked all the items I’m wearing below (or some super similar ones for the jeans and hat, that are now sold out) but before we get there, I need to tell you about Carrera Café. If you’ve never been, you definitely should. My friend proposed that we go there because she had always wanted to go, and I was all up for it since I love the Melrose neighbourhood but never really had a chance to spend a lot of time there.
The place is big with super high ceilings, and everything is white and bright, just the way I like it. It feels kind of fancy, but at the same time super simple and low-key, like a neighborhood joint where everyone is nice and knows each other. I feel like if Sex & The City would have happened now and in LA, this would have been a place where the girls would have met for coffee here and there.
Their coffee is great, and it’s served European style, which I love. They also serve some baked goods, which I’m now beating myself up for not trying out when I had the chance… Guess I’ll have to go back? If you’re passing by later in the day, they also serve salads and sandwiches. Next time I pass by, I might also have to get some of their merch, because they sell the CUTEST mugs with sarcastic but cute quotes that are fully my vibe.
Last thing, I really need to mention that every member of the staff there was super gracious and they let us take plenty of pictures without kicking us out, which was incredibly sweet, especially considering that this is REALLY rare in LA.
have you guys ever been to Carrera Café? And would you like me to do more actual restaurants/coffee shop reviews? I would love to because I LOVE eating, but I want to know if that’s something you guys are into… So please let me know in the comment section below!
Love you guys,
