OOTD: PUFFY SLEEVES & DENIM SHORTS IN PALM SPRINGS

The Hungarian Brunette peasant crop top with smocked bodice and puffy sleeves

2 weeks ago, Sasha and I went to Palm Springs and spent the weekend at a resort with natural hot sources. The whole experience felt super relaxing, but obviously I had to squeeze some photoshoot in there, because that’s just what I do, ha! The desert really is my happy place, and after weeks and weeks of rainy weather in LA, I was ready for a change.

So I planned some outfits, packed some cute clothes, and off we went to Palm Springs. One of my favourite pieces I packed with me was this linen blouse, and not only because it’s just so beautiful. I love it because it came from my friend’s shop, Très Vu.

I’m gonna do something I very rarely do here, and I’m gonna shamelessly plug it: If you want to get this gorgeous top, you can go to my friend’s shop RIGHT HERE and buy it. It’s $29, super comfy and made out of high quality linen, so it’s super comfortable for summer, even in super hot weather. And no, I don’t make any money if you guys decide to buy it. I just love supporting the amazingandbadass.org women in my life who do cool things.

Also, I feel like even though I like shopping at Forever 21, H&M, Zara and then some, I feel like sometimes, it’s great to get out of the beaten path and explore some more indie shops. In this specific case, everything in Kris’ shop (Kris being my friend) is also affordable, so it’s not like you have to splurge to get something that’s not coming from a massive, fast-fashion brand. You can support local entrepreneurs, while still rocking affordable style.

But if this particular one doesn’t speak to you, I linked 20 similar options in a bunch of colours below, so you can get in on the smocked top trend, too. And speaking of the smocked top trend, I’m obsessed with it!! I feel like this top has some peasant, butter-churning vibes, but it’s also super sexy and gives me some major Little House On The Prairie charm…. With a modern twist. I love that it has some old-time charm without looking costumey.

Also, I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel like this is something you’d be able to buy at Urban Outfitters or Reformation, but for minimum 3 times the price, so I really feel like I lucked out here. Be prepared to see this top a lot more this year, because I’m in love with it. Everything from the smocking to the puffy sleeves and the little keyhole neckline with a bow, just makes me want to wear it every day, lol.

Here, I wanted to break the polished and girly feel of it, so I paired it with some denim cutoffs and some black accessories, but I would also wear this with my favourite pink skort, or my beige suede mini skirt. Honestly, I feel like there are very few items in my closet that wouldn’t go with this top, and I love that. I also feel like the smocked tops with pouffy sleeves is gonna be a major trend this summer.

What do you guys think? Are you into the top, and do you plan on getting one for this season? Let me know in the comment section below!!

Love you guys,

Jenny xx
