MY NEW FAVE ATHLEISURE OUTFIT: RED YOGA PANTS + PINK CROPPED HOODIE
Hey guys, happy Friday! Today we’re headed to the desert for a music festival today, and I’ll basically be living in glitter, sequins and hot pants for the next 3 days. That’s obviously my dream life, but I thought it would be fun to share something a little more relaxed on here before it gets flooded with some beautiful but impractical fashion choices, ha!
And what’s more relaxed (and comfortable) than athleisure? NOTHING. I would know, because I’m one of those b*tches who never wears yoga pants to work out. Simply put, I don’t workout, so that kinda rules it out, you know?
Things I do do are walk my dog, work 16 hours a day, shoot content (everything but outfits, obviously) and run errands. And when I do these things, I like to be comfortable.
Comfortable for me used to mean jeans and a sweater, but I guess the California life hit me hard (lol) because here, everyone and their dogs wear athleisure. All the time. Doesn’t matter if you’re at the farmers’ market or the most popular brunch place, you’ll run into someone in yoga pants.
I don’t think there’s any surprise over me wearing a cropped top (even though this time, it’s a sweater) so I feel like we don’t need to linger over this for too long… But the one thing I will say about this sweater is that I LOVE the fit and look.
I feel like a lot of times, wearing a sweater with yoga pants can look really sloppy, especially if it’s a looser fit. But since this one is cropped and has a stiffer hem that hits just in the right place, it still shows your waist and is super flattering.
In all honesty, I’ve been wearing it probably way more than I should have since I got it, so it’s safe to say I’m obsessed.
The one thing I love about these 2 pieces paired together though, is the red+pink colour combination. I’ve seen this combo called a “fashion mistake” many times in fashion magazines, but I quite frankly don’t give a shit.
I love pink (it’s my favourite colour) and I think it looks absolutely beautiful when paired with red. Can we also take a minute to talk about how red yoga pants are THE BOM DOT COM?? I don’t know why or where it came from, but I’m in love with anything red when it comes to activewear. It feels strong, powerful and dangerous, even when the most dangerous thing I do while wearing them is watching TV on the couch. Just kidding, I don’t have a couch. Or a TV, actually.
But moving on… I (as always) wanted to link some options for you guys to recreate this look. My leggings are now sold out (I guess I’m not the only one obsessed with red) but I found tons of similar options - Here are my 6 favourites:
As you can see, some are plain, some have some interesting details (which I love), but they would all look really good with this cropped hoodie I’m wearing. About that cropped hoodie: It’s still available, and I highly recommend it. It’s super soft and not too warm, and the detail that swayed me… The arms are super long. I ordered an XS, and usually, when clothes are my size, the arms are always too short on me. I guess I have monkey arms. But on this one, I have plenty of room to hid my hands if it’s a tiny bit cold in the morning, and it also looks a lot better. The elastic band at the waist is also great quality, and I’m overall really pleased with this sweater. Fun fact: It’s also available in black.
Here are my 6 picks for sweaters, in which I made sure to include mine, some branded options (the Adidas one is the same shade as my Adidas jacket and it also looks amazing with these yoga pants) and a sleeveless option for you guys who like to actually workout, since Summer will be here in a minute.
What do you guys think about the red+pink colour combination? Is it something you would wear? Let me know in the comment section below, or come hang out on Instagram, where you’ll find me @thehungarianbrunette.
Love you guys, wishing all of you a great weekend!
