OUTFIT INSPO: PICNIC B*TCH VIBES & HOW TO RECREATE THE LOOK (+20% Off This Incredibly Cute Top - You're Welcome!!)
I know what you guys are thinking… And yes, I finally took off my Fila sneakers and put on some heels, LOL. What can I say, I wanted to create a look that was a little more put-together and feminine, so I figured I’d ditch the dad sneakers for one day. I’m glad I did, because putting nude heels on reminded me of how flattering they are dnd how they really elongate the leg. But I digress.
I actually came up with this look when I was putting together outfits for Sasha’s nephew’s graduation ceremony and I ended up really loving this top with the skirt. I didn’t end up wearing this, (I went for something a little more conservative instead) but I loved the look so much that I figured I would share it on here for you guys.
That skirt is actually part of a 2-piece set from Shein that you might have seen in this post before, but I think it looks super beautiful paired with a white top.
And speaking of this top, it’s another piece from my friend Kris’ shop, Très Vu. You’ve seen thing from her brand on my blog before (quite a bit, actually) and not only because I like supporting my friend. Actually, it’s mostly because I’m obsessed with the clothes and accessories she carries. They’re all super feminine in a way that feels a little Parisian, a little vintage and always super feminine.
If you know me (albeit only through this blog) you KNOW I’m all about feminine pieces. She also always picks items that feel good on the skin, which is super important to me. There’s nothing I hate more than a scratchy-ass top… And I mean, the ferocity with which I wear my Fila sneakers should tell you a thing or two about how much I value comfort.
As a fun side note, I actually have really fond feelings for this top, because a few weeks ago, my friend asked me if I wanted to go with her on a sourcing trip for Très Vu. Since I have a background in Fashion design and Marketing, I thought it would be super interesting and I gladly accepted.
I spotted this top in the first place we went to, and since I’m a selfish b*tch, I really pleaded its cause, because I wanted to buy it for myself, lol. Since my friend is a good friend (ha!) she listened to me and ended up carrying this top in her shop. It’s since then become one of my favourite tops, because it has everything I truly love in a Summer top: lacing detail on the front, puffy sleeves, a gorgeous eyelet fabric… It’s the best.
Also, side note, I’m usually not a fan of off-the-shoulder tops, because I feel like they’re always slipping down and it’s super annoying… But I LOVE this one. The back is smocked and the front can be laced-up as loosely or tightly as you wish to, so it’s a really amazing, customizable top if you’re in-between sizes. And if you’re tiny like me, it’ll fit. Trust me. Everything is always too big for me, but this one fits me like a frickin’ GLOVE".
Sine I love this top so much (and so many more pieces from Très Vu), my friend gave me a discount code to share with you guys if you want to get anything from her shop. You can use code JENNY20 at checkout to get 20% off your entire order (not just this top)… And I swear, I don’t make a penny out of you shopping on her site. Giving you this code doesn’t benefit me in ANY way, shape or form. I’m just sharing it because if I can get you 20% off, why the f*ck would I not?!
I love this top, and as I said, I’ve been wearing it non-stop since I got it - I have another outfit post coming up with this top too, so stay tuned for another way to style it.
Since I realize not everyone will like the same thing, I also linked 5 similar tops, skirts and bags for you guys down below, should you want to recreate a similar outfit with a different top.
And speaking of the lewk, am I the only one who gets major picnic b*tch vibes from this outfit? I usually think of picnics when I see gingham, and I know this outfit doesn’t have any, but there’s just something about the off-the-shoulder top paired with the little flouncy skirt that makes me feel like this is the perfect outfit for a Summertime picnic that borders on basic. But it’s CUTE AF, so we’ll just go with it, you know?
Oh and also, what’s more picnic b*tch than carrying around a bag that’s basically a glorified version of a picnic basket, except you can’t fit anything in it? Nothing.
So there you have it guys! I’m gonna stop rambling about what makes a picnic b*tch and leave you to your Friday, ha! I hope you enjoyed this look, and if you get this top (or anything from my friend’s shop), please let me know, I want to see what you picked and what the items look like on you!!!
Once again, for 20% off of anything in the shop, you can use my code JENNY20. I said it but I’ll say it again, I DO NOT benefit in any way from you using this code, and I don’t make any money off of it. I don’t have any problem with anyone making money from a discount code, but I’m all about transparency and honesty, so I thought I would let you know I don’t, and just wanted to share with you to make you save!
Love you guys,
