PALM SPRINGS TRAVEL DIARY: 4 OUTFITS WITH 2 DRESSES, 2 TOPS & 1 SKIRT
You guys, today’s post is a LOADED one, so I’ll jump into it right away! As you already know if you follow me on Instagram, I spent last weekend in Palm Springs with my friend Ali. It was a last minute trip that she mentioned a week before, and I casually said I would join her. 2 days later, we were booking a hotel while sharing a bottle of champagne, and the next Saturday, we left for the desert at 8.30am.
The weekend was everything you could expect from this amazing city: Lounging poolside like a lizard, margaritas and HOT weather. And really, that’s all I need to be happy. I’m not going to lie and pretend that I wore 4 outfits in 2 days, because what I mostly wore were the 2 bikinis that I packed. And just incase you haven’t seen it, I just posted my 40 bikini picks a few days ago, which you NEED to check out if you’re on the market for a new swim situation!
But I thought it would be fun to share 4 of the outfits we shot while out there, because they’re really all you need if you’re going to Palm Springs and you actually want to wear clothes, ha! Oh, and in case you’re curious, I did wear outfit #1 to dinner on the first night and outfit #4 on day two, as we were leaving Palm Springs and heading back to LA. The only stops we made on day two were to get poké and Starbucks, and I’m glad I wore such a tiny dress, because it was SCORCHING!
While I loved all my outfits from Palm Springs, there’s something I found truly special about this one. I’ve worn this skirt before, and I really wanted to bring it on this trip, because to me, it’s the ideal vacation skirt. While this exact one isn’t available anymore (things sell out so fast on Forever 21’s website!!) I linked this super similar one right below because let’s face it, it looks almost identical. The top and boots are the exact ones I’m wearing though, and I would highly recommend both.
The top is well structured, so you don’t even need to wear a bra with it, and it can be worn off the shoulder or with the straps up. Believe it or not, this small detail completely changes the look of it. The boots are also super comfortable, and I wore them all along the trip, unless we were at the pool. I ordered them half a size down because my size (7) was sold-out, and they fit perfectly. They’re 50% off right now, so I would really check them out if you’re into white boots!
Same skirt, different day, right? Actually, this is a great nighttime transition outfit, because even though the nights are still super hot, they do feel a little chillier in comparison to days… And chances are, if you’re going anywhere to dinner, you’ll be sitting in a spot that has blasting A/C. If you’re anything like me, you’ll find a way to get cold then and there.
I personally love this shirt because it’s super old and incredibly comfy. It’s also oversized, so it can be worn as a cover-up at the pool, and then just knotted up to become a super cute crop top - And yes, I’m a real crop top hoe… But you know that if you’re a regular here, lol. I linked 2 shirts right below because I simply fell in love with the knotted cropped version from Forever 21, that’s super straight forward if you want to wear it like I did… But I also wanted to give you guys an option for a full-on shirt that you can wear in many way too, just because I I think it’s a little more versatile.
If yellow doesn’t scream SUMMERTIME, then I really don’t know what does. I fell in love with this dress immediately when I saw it online, and I ordered it right away. I feel like it looked amazing with white boots - And like Summer if it was an outfit. I don’t know if you can tell from the pictures, but that dress was a little too big for me. It’s a size Small from Forever 21, so if you’re a skinny girl like me, this might not be the dress for you, as it fits on the larger side. I’m lucky enough that I can tailor my own clothes, which is what I’m going to have to do with this dress, because I feel like that specific style would look much better if it was closer to the body.
I linked 4 similar option, just because if you don’t have a yellow lace dress for Summer yet, you need one! Also, if you’re into yellow, definitely keep scrolling, because the last outfit is another super cute yellow moment!!
This was also up there in my favourite outfits, just because it was SO HOT that I couldn’t imagine wearing anything more than just the tiniest dress ever. The fabric of this dress was super comfortable, and the fact that it was a little loose kiiinda gave me the impression of a little breeze, even though there was absolutely zero wind in sight. Basically, what I’m saying is, if you’re planning on being out and about in Palm Springs during the Summer months, either go early in the morning, later in the evening… Or wear almost nothing, like I did, ha!
My dress is the first one linked, and I also wanted to give you guys 4 other similar options that might be more your vibe!
That’s it you guys! I hope you liked this post, sorry for the ton of pictures… But that’s what happens when you do a post on 4 different outfits, lol. Which outfit was your favourite, and which one would you wear in Palm Springs?
Love you guys,
