OOTD: STRIPES & FRILLS

Hey guys, happy Friday! Was this week crazy, or what? The weather was really hot here in LA, and we don't have AC, so it was definitely... Interesting, to say the least.

Today, I wanted to share a look that I shot last week. We met early in the morning in Venice, with my friend Jackie, and shot this outfit, that I like to call Stripes & Frills. It was perfect for our morning, which included walking along Abbot Kinney and brunch at The Butcher's Daughter.

What I love about this look is that it's both sporty, because of the side stripe, and girly, because of the frills... Obviously.

I got these jeans at Zara on MASSIVE sale, for 22$. Since they're now sold out, I found you guys 3 alternatives on Amazon, all Prime, and at 3 price points. You're welcome. Option 1 sports a very French stripe, and they sell for a whopping 15$. Option 2 is by Blank NYC, a brand I LOVE, and they're super similar to the ones I'm wearing. Finally, Option 3 has a few preppy stripes and an uneven hem, which I'm a huuuge fan of. You can also find more options below, because I wouldn't just stop there.

On a side note, I have to say I started buying more clothes on Amazon, and I love it. If you have a Prime membership, shipping is always free and quick, and you can easily return something if it doesn't fit or you just don't like it. For someone like me, who always has such a hard time finding clothes that fit, it's a life saver!

Now about that top. You're not gonna like me, but it's from years ago... Like, 3 years ago. I still wear it here and there when I want a simple top that still has some punch. The frills on the shoulder really turn this otherwise simple white tank into a showstopper. Since it's obviously sold out since then, I found a few similar options that I listed below. I basically looked for simple white tops with frills and flounce, because that's the detail that turns a basic top into a really feminine piece. If you like the combination of a frilly white top with the sporty jeans, check out my similar selections below. Honestly, some of them are so amazing that I feel like it might be time for me to get a few more current options... What can I say, I love frills and flounces.

I feel like for a more feminine look, these jeans could also be paired with a lace longline bralette. If you're interested in wearing lingerie as outerwear, check out this post, all about the deed.
